Inquisitive schools for Oregon's next generation

Teaching Preschools

Our Teaching Preschools are demonstration sites that make our practices visible.  Our Teaching Preschools host professional learning events and site visits as standing examples of the changes we are working to create within Oregon’s schools.

Parkrose School District: Prescott Teaching Preschool, Shaver Teaching Preschool, and Sacramento Teaching Preschool

With our relationship starting in 2015, Parkrose School District hosts three of our Teaching Preschools.  Partially funded by Preschool Promise and Preschool for All, TPP facilitates growth and change from teaching practice to administering teaching and learning.

Gladstone School District: Gladstone Teaching Preschool

Starting in 2014, our Gladstone Teaching Preschool is an inclusive classroom run as a collaboration between Clackamas Education Service District, Gladstone School District, and Teaching Preschool Partners.  We facilitate growth and change in classroom practice, and work to align our approaches with inclusion in mind.

Public school district partners

We’re working alongside educators and administrators to integrate playful learning approaches that center student voice and agency into classrooms across Oregon. All of our school district partners are engaged in multi-year projects that we support while cultivating the values of Playful Inquiry

Regional Partnerships

Building on the infrastructure of Oregon’s early education system, we work with regional agencies, state agencies, and community organizations to bring programs and services across multiple school districts in a given region.

Columbia, Clatsop, Tillamook, and Washington Counties

Starting in 2022, TPP worked alongside the Northwest Regional ESD, Regional Educator Network, CCR&R, and Early Learning Hub to offer professional development, host site visits, and collaborate with teachers and  administrators.

Southern Oregon Cohort

Beginning in 2024, TPP is excited to offer the Southern Oregon Cohort to support small rural districts in their efforts to offer early learning in their communities.

Center for African Immigrants and Refugees Organization (CAIRO)

Beginning in 2024, TPP is proud to be working alongside CAIRO as their preschool program offerings expand across Multnomah and Washington counties. Utilizing Asset-Based Playful inquiry, we look into what it means to offer playful inquiry experiences that are culturally sustaining and culturally specific.

Projects

What happens when we connect great ideas?

In addition to working in school districts, TPP also offers deep dives into cultivating powerful early learning communities through…

  • Cohort Experiences
  • Classroom Environment Consulting
  • Professional Development Workshops designed in collaboration with participating sites
  • Hosting and preserving the Opal School Archive
  • And more…

Together we help to build a brighter future

TPP’s work would not be possible without foundation support and thought partnership from our collaborators and contributors.
