Executive Associate & Playful Inquiry School Mentor

Emily McNeff is an elementary educator with a commitment to fostering meaningful learning experiences for young students. Emily’s teaching philosophy centers on inquiry-based learning and a strong emphasis on social and environmental justice. She focuses her work on creating a community where students can develop a sense of empathy for the world around them. Emily most recently taught in Beaverton School District, where she empowered Kindergarten authors through Story Workshop. She believes materials and storytelling are forms of liberation, especially for linguistically diverse students. Emily believes her role is to create environments where students can ask questions, explore, and discover, thus empowering them to become deep independent thinkers, storytellers, and change makers.
