Preparing an invitation to explore a new material is like setting a table- a table of possibilities.  Taking the time to make the organization of the materials on the table look aesthetically inviting sends a message to the children that their work is important, valued and worthy of their time and attention.

When working with teachers who are interested in using materials of the arts and sciences with their students TPP put together materials kits with handouts that explain the nuances of a material, offer suggestions for the care and keeping of that material, mentor text that connect with that material, as well as,  possible questions to ask as children explore what’s possible.
